We were caring for a very good friend this past several years. Recently, my company required me to be away from home more than expected. Even with the help from Hopice of Frederick and Visiting Angels of Frederick, our friend needed more care than what we were able to provide her. After visiting several facilities within Frederick County, our friend decided on this facility. She was exceptionally pleased with the quality of care given 24 hours per day, 7 day’s a week by every member of the staff. She felt so relaxed and comfortable that she felt like she was living in a plush resort with the staff catering to every one of her wishes. I never saw our friend more relaxed, happy and smiling then the 3 weeks she was a resident. Our friend was not much into socializing but this team of professionals and the other valued residence encouraged our friend to continue her fellowship in her catholic faith but helping her to participate in the weekly catholic services. A total joy in our friends life. Sadly our friend lost her battle to COPD, congestive heart disease and kidney disease but her last days were by far the most joyous and fulfilling she could have ever experienced. My wife and I send our upmost respect to the entire team representing Frederick Health and Rehabilitation Center. Their love, courage and support help us to give our friend the best the world could offer another human. May she now rest in pease forever.

On June 21, 2019, my 95 year old neighbor was brought to this center. The greatest challenge was separating her from her toy poodle and her home where she has been living independently until recently when Hospice/Visiting Angels started supporting her. It was wonderful having Polo, the resident yellow lab, visiting her. The facility will even allow her dog to visit as long as his paperwork with immunization records are up to date. I have visited my neighbor daily and she has been well cared for here. She is always clean, well dressed and up in her rocking chair when I visit. She has someone helping her eat her meals because her vision has recently deteriorated. She was getting startled by all the new sounds. Each nurse/ aide has been asked to knock on her door and identify themselves upon entering so she knows someone is in her room. Staff have been honoring this request. She has been joining the activities in the dining room and although it's loud and sometimes overwhelming for her she enjoys hearing the laughter and being with people. Two staff members, Ronda and Mary, have exchanged cell numbers with me to communicate. Mary Key, who does work there and has her mother residing there, even offered to FaceTime when I'm on vacation so I can see my neighbor. I am impressed with the patience and care I have observed. All staff have been friendly, kind and efficient. My neighbor says, "I have no complaints.

I am a caregiver for deaf senior citizens. I just started coming to Frederick Health & Rehab recently. The nurses and staff are very pleasant and attentive. When I learned Mary Key came on board as a staff, I was enthusiastic because she knows American Sign Language (ASL) which is a HUGE plus for the deaf patients and their families/friends. She advocates for them and their needs. I was pleased to know that deaf patients really like her very much. She is very empathetic and friendly. We need more nursing homes with staff that knows ASL or have the willingness to learn. I pray that Frederick Health & Rehab will hire more people that know ASL AND hire deaf people to work there.
